We are a family-owned, multi-generational firm of electrical engineers and designers. Based in North Vancouver with an office in Squamish, we’ve grown from local roots into a trusted partner for projects across Canada.

Our work spans power distribution, lighting, fire and life safety, IT, and security systems — designed as integrated solutions that keep projects reliable, efficient, and compliant.

Western Element is led by two principals who, together, combine decades of proven experience with a new generation of forward-thinking leadership.

Mirek Krzesinski, Western Element Engineering founding principal

Mirek Krzesinski

Founding Principal
Mirek brings over 30 years of electrical design experience, with a career shaped by healthcare, institutional, and complex infrastructure projects.

Mirek co-founded Western Element Engineering in 2005, following a decade of project management and electrical design work in the Vancouver region. Initially operating as a joint venture with BLC Engineering, he established WEE as a standalone practice in 2014.

Since then, Mirek has led electrical design and consulting across hospitals, clinics, universities, and other specialized facilities, guiding projects from concept through construction. Known for his practical approach and impressive technical knowledge, he has earned the trust of notable public and private clients including Fraser Health, Vancouver Coastal Health, BC Cancer, PHSA, UBC, SFU and many others.

Patrick Krzesinski, PE, P.Eng.

Founding Principal
Patrick brings a new-generation perspective, blending international project experience with a sharp focus on efficient, high-quality execution.

As co-founder and principal of Western Element Engineering, Patrick is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in BC, Alberta, and Nunavut, and a Professional Engineer (PE) in Nevada. A graduate from  Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Systems Engineering, he has led healthcare, institutional and commercial projects across Canada and the United States.

At WEE, Patrick serves as Engineer-of-Record, Senior Project Manager, and Team Lead, ensuring that every project benefits from both technical rigor and a collaborative, solutions-driven approach.

Patrick Krzesinski, Western Element Engineering founding principal
