A first-of-its-kind diagnostic imaging centre delivered through a public–private healthcare partnership in British Columbia. The INITIO Medical Imaging Centre at 3185 Willingdon Green is a landmark facility the first PET/CT installation in BC delivered through a P3 model with the Province.
The centre brings multiple imaging modalities together under one roof, including PET/CT, SPECT, a fully shielded MRI suite, and a dedicated mammography room. Hot labs, injection rooms, shared control areas, and patient-focused waiting spaces support a highly specialized workflow designed for accuracy, safety, and comfort. WEE designed the complete electrical infrastructure for this high-acuity environment. Our scope covered power and redundancy for critical imaging systems, specialized connections for nuclear medicine, MRI RF shielding integration, precision lighting, life-safety systems, and detailed coordination with equipment vendors and healthcare partners.

By meeting the strict technical and clinical requirements of modern imaging, we helped deliver a centre that sets a new benchmark for diagnostic access and innovation in BC. A technologically advanced, patient-centred imaging facility that expands diagnostic capacity and redefines healthcare delivery in the province.
