A complete revitalization of a civic landmark, transforming a dated municipal complex into a modern, sustainable community hub. The redevelopment of North Vancouver City Hall upgraded the original 1970s-era facility into a LEED Gold civic centre that combines adaptive reuse with contemporary design.
The project introduced a new glass atrium to unify public and administrative spaces, improved building performance through seismic and energy upgrades, and modernized the interior program to better serve a rapidly growing community. The project balanced heritage preservation with forward-looking infrastructure. WEE was responsible for the full electrical design across the redevelopment, including new power distribution, advanced lighting systems, life-safety infrastructure, and energy-management integrations that support the City’s sustainability objectives.
Our work ensured that modern electrical systems were carefully woven into the existing structure without compromising the architectural vision. The result is a civic building that is resilient, efficient, and capable of supporting a wide range of municipal functions for decades to come.
